Im pretty stoked about it cause it was my first preference for Vac work. Im finding myself having a growing interest in the oil and gas industry, and as a result Iv been treasurer of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) QUT student chapter for about a year now. Through SPE, i met a couple of people who have become graduate engineers at Santos who said the company was pretty good, so yeah it all worked out pretty well.
I have signed the contract, however i havn't been told what my project will involve exactly.....hopefully find out soon.
If you are reading this and think you might be interested in the oil and gas industry (i think its starting to be more commonly referred to as the energy industry), i would recommend getting involved with SPE. Talk to as many people as possible and find out as much as you can.
