Exams over!

So exams are finally over for Semester 2 and I am now a quarter of the way through my degree..... it goes so fast! But i can't celebrate for too long because next week im heading off to North Straddie for vacation work with CRL (Consolidated Rutile Limited). Although a longer holiday would be good, i can't wait to get over there and hopefully start actaully doing something with what ive learnt at uni so far!

For anyone who has never heard of Vac work, its basically where you work for a company over the summer break (hence vacation work) so you can get a feel for what its actually like to work in the field of your study. I suppose i should mention a little bit about myself before i talk any more about vac work etc......

I am 17 atm, and am studying Mechanical engineering at QUT. I dont work while im studying so my time is spent either studying or just hanging out with mates. I like surfing, fishing, and pretty much anything else in or around water. I worked pretty hard in High School (at Holland Park High) and i feel like now its paid off and then some. So to anyone in High School i would suggest that it is not very likely that you will regret studying too much, but theres a good chance that you will regret not studying enough.

Anyway, back to the whole Vac work thing.... i start next monday and can't wait! Its hard to know what you are doing at uni is definetly the right thing, even though i feel pretty sure of it. So im looking forward to getting a feel for what its actually like to work as an engineer, not just what its like to study as one.

Bye for now.
